Frazier begins work on the 58,000 square foot Discovery Children’s Museum, an interactive educational destination located in downtown Las Vegas’ high profile Smith Center cultural campus. Frazier is providing structural CMU, brick veneer, and mechanically fastened stone veneer services for this massive project. When complete the world class cultural complex will feature 2,458 tons of Indiana limestone installed by Frazier and will be an anchor adding vitality, diversity and cultural appeal to the whole downtown Las Vegas area. During the April 23rd topping out ceremony, the final piece of Reynolds Hall, a massive 50 ton stainless steel cap was installed to complete the Carillon Bell Tower taking it to 170 feet. Four of Frazier Masonry’s recently completed Nevada projects are featured in Southwest Constructor’s Best of 2010 Awards issue. The December issue highlights the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center (Las Vegas, NV) comprised of 5 single-story buildings totaling 16,600 sq. ft, anticipating a Gold level LEED certification. It also features the UNR Davidson Mathematics and Science Center. Clad by Frazier in brick veneer, the complex was completed 3 months ahead of schedule. Also recognized is the VA Medical Center Phase III - Nursing Home Care Unit. It is a crucial addition to the massive new VA Medical Center in North Las Vegas. Finally, the Solids Dewatering Facility in Las Vegas, a very complex, multi-story building with a contemporary architectural facade also earned a Best of 2010 Award mention. Yesterday Frazier topped out CMU portion on the 145 foot tall Large Hall Tower C section of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV. The Smith Center was envisioned as a world-class performing arts center that will enable Southern Nevada to take its place on an international stage, celebrating artistic excellence, education and culture from around the world.
